IMPROV SPACES MUSIC FESTIVAL will present five days of live music, art, and dance showcasing a range of Saratoga County and Capital Region musicians as well as bringing musicians and artists from New York City/New Jersey upstate.


Day 3 — Friday, May 31

6-8PM: Thomas Dressler Historic Organ Improvisation
on the Round Lake Auditorium Davis-Ferris Tracker Organ

Day 3 of the IMPROV SPACES MUSIC FESTIVAL

Thomas Dressler Historic Organ Improvisation on the Round Lake Auditorium Davis-Ferris Organ

A talk about Baroque and Historic improvisation on the organ and a special performance on the Round Lake Auditorium’s Davis-Ferris Organ by Thomas Dressler. Dressler will be speaking about the Round Lake Auditorium’s historic Davis-Ferris Organ as well as the history of improvisation on the organ from Gregorian themes to Baroque music. He will play from a transcribed improvisation by J.S. Bach and improvise on the historic Round Lake organ.

New Sounds for Organ Trio
Dressler’s program will be followed by a series of contemporary exploratory improvisations on the pipe organ with Round Lake resident and organist Jonathan Fuller and Improv Spaces co-directors Alex Chang on the harp and Adam Forman on the drums.
