“Jane Austen: Her Time, Our Time”
Presenter: Catherine Golden
It is a truth universally acknowledged that Jane Austen’s early nineteenth-century novels, deeply rooted in her time, resonate in our time. We will examine Austen's work in her cultural moment of the Regency period in Great Britain (ca. 1795-1837) and in our twenty-first century moment in the United States.
