NOW: Seeking the Vanishing City
NOW: Seeking the Vanishing City is a theater and dance piece presenting the life of Paul Santy, a dancer, and choreographer who went on a spiritual pilgrimage for 25 years. The performance, with a cast of 15 dancers and actors, brings us to experience Paul’s life through a multidisciplinary approach, weaving between projected films, song, dance, and theatrical scenes.
We follow Paul’s journey as he explores what it means to follow a path of kindness and light. The performance immerses us in pivotal moments in his life as he shatters through the repression of his youth, decides to leave the New York dance scene to travel the world on a spiritual journey, and returns to dance 25 years later.
If you ask Paul about wisdom, he simply says “to be wise, is to shine”, and to see him dance today, is to be greeted by inescapable joy. We feel the heart and sincerity of a child coming from a body that looks wise with age.
